Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer is a Teaser in Every Sense of the Word

**Spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 5.** Don’t read if you are not caught up or don’t want to know anything about Season 6.

The first teaser trailer for the sixth season of HBO’s hit Game of Thrones dropped today and man do they know how to jam the knife in. I mean that both literally and figuratively, of course, as the trailer was basically just a supercut of some of the most heart-wrenching and painful moments in the show thus far. In fact, the only new content we got was the voice over by Max von Sydow and Isaac Hampstead Wright as the Three Eyed Raven and the absent-from-last-season Bran Stark, respectively.

“We watch, we listen, and we remember,” intones the mysterious voice of the Three Eyed Raven, known as Brynden Rivers or Bloodraven to book readers. “The past is already written. The ink is dry.” At the end of the show’s fourth season, Bran Stark and his companions Jojen and Meera Reed and Hodor, finally reached the mysterious man who lives in the tree after several seasons of journeying to him. This season Bran begins training as the old Greenseer’s acolyte. From the little material in the books yet to be used in the show, I can promise you Bran’s storyline is going to be one of the most fascinating this season.

Also featured heavily in the teaser is the fate of Jon Snow. By this point, based on the numerous sitings in Ireland including a few during filming, it’s clear Kit Harrington will be back on the show in some capacity. But Game of Thrones show-runners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (D&D for short) never said he was off the show, they just said Jon Snow was dead. There are numerous theories about how his resurrection will occur ranging anywhere from Milessandre’s and her fire god (the former of whom conveniently showed up on the Wall right before the stabbing), to the White Walkers themselves raising him to fight on their side. Despite how it ends up happening at this point, only one thing is absolutely clear:

“They have no idea what’s going to happen.”

Yeah, you don’t have to rub it in, Bran.

What do you guys think? Will Jon Snow be back from the dead? If so, how will he be resurrected? And if only death can pay for life, what will his resurrection cost?
