Will Metal Gear Solid V Be the Best Game of 2015?

There’s been a wave of attention following the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with its slew of perfect scores. It took what everyone loved from the previous entries and improved upon them, ushering new mechanics and gameplay into an open world for the first time in the series. It’s received perfect scores from huge sources such as Metacritic, Gamespot and Steam. IGN also gave it a 10/10 and did an open Q&A stream titled “Ask Us Why We Gave MGSV a 10” for those of you who are really curious and haven’t bought the game quite yet. With all of these crazy scores, we must ask the question: Will it be the best game of 2015?

As far as ratings go, it’ll be an immediate contender, but there are many who will cry out for games like Witcher 3, which also received amazing scores across the board and sold millions of copies due to a game full of excellent content and story, not to mention 16 free DLCs slated for release by CD Projekt Red. The strongest competition, though, may be some of the games coming later in the year. Fallout 4 and the new Battlefront are both coming out in Novemebr 2015, each with their own masses of superfans and strong arguments to be in the running for GOTY if they deliver as expected. It’s a bit of speculation, but we think it’ll be between MGSV and Fallout 4. Come the end of the year, we’ll find out which game reigns supreme for 2015, whether it be a frontrunner or a dark horse releasing amidst the massive titles this winter.

Which game do you think has or will have the strongest case for GOTY? Start a discussion in the comments!
